Puerto Rico is an island full of fantastic food and gorgeous places. Each corner has its character and uniqueness and presents specialized locally produced ingredients. On the Road Dinner Series is our proposal to take food lovers to these amazing corners and have a unique dining experience carefully curated by El Pretexto’s team. ON 2024, we will collaborate with PARA LA NATURALEZA TO ENJOY FOOD ON INCREDIBLE NATURAL RESERVES PRESERVED BY THE ORGANIZATION.

BY POPULAR DEMAND, PUERTO RICAN, CAYEY-BORN, Michellin-star winner Chef Jonathan Meléndez from Casa Mono, NEW YORK, WILL JOIN US to work WITH local ingredients. Jonathan loves to create incredible sauces, play with flavorful vegetables and fruits, and has over 20 years of experience in local and international kitchens.

EL PRETEXTO’S HOUSE guest, CHEF LUIS CABRERO, WILL JOIN JONATHAN TO co-create AN AMAZING DINNER EXPERIENCE. Luis loves to cook using smoked and traditional techniques, honoring family recipes and local ingredients. LUIS HAS OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE food INDUSTRY, including over 11 years at la hacienda.

Every date and place will be completely different, including ingredients and a menu. The sommeliers’ team of Méndez & Co. will design a unique wine pairing for each experience. Make sure to reserve your spot(s) and mark your calendar!

A historical coffee farm with a gorgeous view of the Central Range of mountains of Puerto Rico.
We will enjoy a tour around the property to connect with this protected natural reserve's historical coffee production, community, and conservation efforts.
We will then have a locally sourced lunch in the renewed deck.
