El Pretexto Long Weekend Food Experience lasts five days to allow you to have an enriching time by slowing down and immersing yourself in the diverse geography, culture, food, and traditions of Puerto Rico. Connections will be made with our landscape, locals, fellow travelers, and, most importantly, yourself. You'll experience hands-on cooking classes, learn from producers, meet top chefs and traditional home cooks, delight in classic food experiences, enjoy great wines, sip the best rums, and visit farms. I promise you’ll be glad you joined us.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE EL PRETEXTO LONG WEEKEND FOOD EXPERIENCE?
Transportation from and to the airport (SJU).
Personal attention and hosting by Crystal Díaz.
Private bedroom and bathroom for four nights.
Transportation to the farms and experiences.
All breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
All cooking class ingredients.
Wines and rums.
One-hour massage.
Yoga and cardio sessions to begin your day.
Farmer remuneration, tour tickets, and fees for parking beaches or parks.
Classes and food experiences with professional chefs.
The long weekend experience costs $6,800 per couple, $3,600 per individual, and $12,500 per group of 4 people.
Flights are to be arranged by each guest. It is highly recommended to plan your arrival for Tuesday night (an extra night could be arranged for an extra fee or you could stay a night in San Juan) or Wednesday morning. To depart on Sunday, we recommend a midday or mid-afternoon flight.
El Pretexto is an adult-only venue. Bringing kids under 18 and pets to this venue is not allowed.
One month before the experience, we will require the balance payment towards your experience. A link will be sent directly to you. If you prefer to pay your balance beforehand, please write us to info@elpretextopr.com, and we will accommodate you. A 7% Tourism tax is not included in the total cost of the experience and will be charged along with the balance.
Tips protocol:
Our drivers’ tips are already paid.
Feel free to tip your masseuse directly.
Chefs, assistants, and guides are well-paid, but if you decide to tip, feel free to do so directly or to let us know, and we can share the tip with all of them or to whom you prefer.
We reserve the right of admission and permanence in our space.
Our cancellation policy:
Deposit reimbursement will only occur if canceled 90 days before the beginning of the experience. Why? By this time, we have already done the reservations, down payments, and logistics coordination, and we are counting on your presence. If something unexpected happens, we invite you to let us know quickly. Check if a family member or friend can take your place, as we will do our best to find someone to buy your spaces, but we cannot guarantee it.
The deposit could be transferred to another experience week if space is available and if it is requested 90 days before the beginning of the original date. If the request is made within 90 days of the original date, 50% of the deposit will be charged as a fee to change the date, and the remaining 50% will be used towards the new date.
After the full balance is paid, if a cancellation needs to happen, only the balance will be reimbursed or transferred to a new date, but the original deposit won’t be reimbursed.
We reserve the right to cancel or postpone this event. It is very unlikely that this will happen, but if the time comes, we will reimburse 100% of your deposit.
If there is a global crisis, such as a pandemic, then we will reimburse 100%.
Please allow up to 60 days for any reimbursement.
