Crystal, traveller, owner and aficionado chef will open the space to welcome guests who want to explore an experience that she often only offers to family and friends. She loves to cook Indian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean food using locally sourced fresh ingredients with spices and oils from these regions. The idea is to have a small group sharing a family-style dinner and enriching conversations. We will begin at 6:00 pm and finish around 8:30 pm.
Six to seven preparations will be shared at the center of the table, but the menu will not be shared. For logistic purposes, we won’t be able to cater to allergies or restrictions except for vegetarian options.
Indian cuisine uses lots of vegetables, grains, chicken, and fish. We won’t do super hot spicy but will have spicy sauces on the side to add more heat if you like.
Middle Eastern cuisine uses many vegetables, grains, chicken, and lamb.
We will have our wine list available, but we will also have the opportunity to pair the food with a specific bottle of wine that the Sommelier chose for the dinner ingredients and flavor profiles.
The price is per person. Everyone will be seated on a long communal table. Wine bottles will be sold separately.

The purpose of these dinners is to share meaningful conversations and learn from each other. Embracing diversity and different points of view and disagreeing respectfully is vital to enjoying this experience. We understand that those who want to engage in these dinners are open to having these conversations while keeping an open heart and mind, keeping temperance, consideration, and a relaxed tone, or, more directly, not attacking or offending anyone who thinks differently. Only in that way will we grow, fix the world, and have a great night.
The maximum number of people is 12. All guests will sit at a shared long table. Entering the main building, our home is strictly prohibited, even if the doors are open. Visibly sick people won’t be able to join us; please stay home if that is the case. Thank you!
The price is per person and includes food, service, and house water. Wine bottles will be sold separately.
El Pretexto is an adult-only venue. Bringing kids under 18 and pets to this event is not allowed.
We reserve the right of admission and permanence in our space.
Our cancellation policy:
Purchase reimbursement will only occur if canceled 72 hours before the event. Why? By this time, we have already purchased all the food for the reserved spaces, and we are counting on your presence. If something unexpected happens, we invite you to let us know and check if a family or friend can purchase your spaces. We will do our best to find someone to buy them for you, but we cannot guarantee it.
