Puerto Rico is an island full of fantastic food and gorgeous places. Each corner has its character and uniqueness and presents specialized locally produced ingredients. On the Road Dinner Series is our proposal to take food lovers to these amazing corners and have a unique dining experience carefully curated by El Pretexto’s team. This time, we will collaborate with Para la Naturaleza to enjoy food in incredible natural reserves preserved by the organization.

By popular demand, Puerto Rican, Cayey-born, Michelin-star winner Chef Jonathan Meléndez from Casa Mono, New York, will join us in working with local ingredients. Jonathan loves to create incredible sauces and play with flavorful vegetables and fruits and has over 20 years of experience in local and international kitchens.

El Pretexto’s Guest Chef, Luis Cabrero, will join Jonathan to co-create an amazing dinner experience. Luis loves to cook using smoked and traditional techniques, honoring family recipes and local ingredients. Luis has over 20 years of experience in the food industry, including over 11 years at La Hacienda.

The first experience of this second season series will be on Sunday, August 4th, at 12:30 p.m. at Paraiso Las Lunas in Caguas. Chef Jonathan Meléndez will be joined by Chef Luis Cabrero, guest chef of El Pretexto, to present a beautiful lunch with a wine pairing. Both chefs will prepare each dish with love and the flavorful, fresh ingredients that Puerto Rico produces. We will enjoy a tour of the gorgeous reserve, then celebrate with a glass of Segura Viudas Brut Reserva Heredad and an outstanding wine pairing carefully designed by Mendez Wine Selection Sommeliers. We will all be seated at shared tables. The price is per person and includes food, wine pairing, filtered water, and service. To respect the event's logistics, changes in the menu can’t be made.

To ensure the quality of service, we won't be able to accept menu changes. Arriving on time is highly recommended. Late-shows will enjoy the dishes pending serving at the time of arrival. We thank you upfront for your consideration and understanding.

Our cancellation policy:

  • Purchase reimbursement will only occur if canceled 72 hours before the event. Why? By this time we have already done the purchase of all food and drinks for the reserved spaces and we are definitely counting on your presence. If something unexpected happened, we invite you to let us know, and check if a family or friend can purchase your spaces as we will do our best to find someone to buy them for you but we cannot guarantee it.
